The Supreme Court on Friday granted former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar an extension of protection from arrest until March 17. Khedkar is under scrutiny for allegedly cheating and availing wrong quota benefits in the UPSC civil services examination.
A bench comprising Justices B V Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma has directed her to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. The court also instructed the Additional Solicitor General to file a response within three weeks.
Allegations against Khedkar include misrepresentations in her application for the 2022 UPSC civil services exam, leading to an investigation by the Delhi government and UPSC. Despite her refutations, a strong prima facie case has been established against her, necessitating further investigation into potential systemic manipulation.
