Supreme Court Quashes Chargesheet in High-Profile Sextortion Case

The bench, including Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and K Vinod Chandran, criticized the Delhi High Court for not invalidating the chargesheet earlier, providing relief to Walia. Advocate Ashwani Kumar Dubey highlighted that the complainant, who allegedly managed a 'sextortion' racket, had falsely accused multiple individuals for monetary gains.

Walia, a decorated Army veteran suffering from severe health issues, was implicated in multiple fabricated cases over the last eight years. The incident reportedly unfolded when the complainant approached Walia for social media promotion of his autobiography during the COVID-19 pandemic's aftermath.
