At a recent UN Security Council meeting, India emphasized the significance of its diplomatic ties with Afghanistan, affirming plans to initiate development projects while continuing humanitarian aid. Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish underscored India's enduring relationship with Afghanistan, founded on historic people-to-people bonds.
In January, India's Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, met with Afghanistan's Acting Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, in the highest-level contact between New Delhi and the Taliban since 2021. The dialogue revolved around humanitarian support and strengthening regional relations, with Afghanistan expressing gratitude for India's enduring assistance.
India's enduring commitment to Afghanistan includes providing vast quantities of relief materials and partnering with UN agencies to uphold peace and stability.
