The Rajasthan government is undertaking significant reforms to enhance access to justice by repealing 45 outdated laws. This step was announced by Jogaram Patel, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, during discussions in the state's Legislative Assembly.
The Rajasthan Laws Repealing Bill, 2025, aims to streamline the legal framework by removing obsolete laws, including the Rajasthan Right to Information (Repeal) Act, 2006. Patel noted that previous governments had also engaged in similar efforts, highlighting a history of legislative updates dating back to 1954.
This legal overhaul is in line with the vision of 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.' The house passed the bill with a voice vote, demonstrating bipartisan support for this comprehensive legal reform.
