The Indian Embassy has urged China's state-run Global Times to verify its sources before disseminating unfounded claims via social media. The call comes amid reports of Indian military activities targeting Pakistan's terror infrastructure, which were shared without verification.
In a series of pointed remarks, the Embassy underscored the spread of misinformation by pro-Pakistan social media accounts, tagging these activities under the hashtag #OperationSindoor. The Embassy warned that such actions reflect poorly on journalistic ethics and responsibility.
Accompanying their caution, the Embassy referenced a PIB fact-check, which highlighted erroneous postings of outdated images. These images were circulated with false claims of recent Indian military aircraft incidents, a narrative that has disrupted fact-based reporting.
