A comprehensive two-day review focusing on the 'holistic preparedness and readiness of assets' was conducted by the top brass of the Coast Guard in West Bengal's Haldia, according to official sources.
The operation, spearheaded by Additional Director General Donny Michael, Coast Guard Commander of the Eastern Seaboard, took place at the Indian Coast Guard district headquarters in Haldia and concluded on Thursday.
During his time in Haldia, Michael inspected the operational preparedness, assessed the progress on key infrastructure projects, and evaluated the technical aspects of operational maintenance facilities. An interactive session with officers and personnel was conducted, wherein Michael urged them to exhibit dedication, perseverance, and professionalism for achieving excellence. He also stressed the importance of prioritizing maritime security and advancing critical projects, given the strategic location of the West Bengal headquarters and its proximity to the International Maritime Boundary Line with Bangladesh and the ecologically sensitive Sunderbans.
