Authorities in Delhi intensified their crackdown on illegal encroachments with fresh demolition drives launched Monday in Ashok Vihar and Wazirpur areas. The operations were bolstered by a significant police and paramilitary presence, ensuring law and order amid the removal of over 200 homes built on government land.

The demolition initiative in Ashok Vihar was led by a Special Task Force team, who accompanied by excavators, targeted unauthorized structures on government land. Meanwhile, a similar operation took place near the Wazirpur railway line to address illegal encroachments.

This marks the second such drive carried out in the region this month. Previously, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the criticality of preventing encroachment near railway lines due to potential safety hazards. Numerous similar operations have been executed across other parts of Delhi, including Bhoomiheen Camp and Madrasi Camp.
