In a significant development for international trade, Japan's top negotiator Ryosei Akazawa announced on Tuesday that a new trade agreement with the U.S. provides Japan with the lowest tariff rates on semiconductor chips and pharmaceuticals among all U.S. trade deals.
Speaking at a news conference, Akazawa emphasized that Japan would benefit from any reductions in tariffs that the U.S. agrees to with third countries, ensuring that Japan remains competitive in these crucial sectors.
