Tragic Incident in Uttarakhand: Child Drowns Amidst Heavy Rains

An 11-year-old boy, Yash Singh, drowned in waterlogging in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district due to continuous rain. Authorities have provided Rs four lakh compensation to the family. The Meteorological Centre issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in several regions, including Nainital and Dehradun, in the coming days.

An 11-year-old child named Yash Singh drowned due to severe waterlogging following continuous rainfall in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar district, officials confirmed on Sunday. The incident occurred in Khamaria village, Bajpur tehsil.

Udham Singh Nagar District Disaster Management Officer, Umashankar Negi, reported the tragic incident and mentioned that Yash Singh's body had been successfully recovered after the drowning. He also stated that the grieving family has been compensated with Rs four lakh.

The Meteorological Centre in Dehradun has put out an orange alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rains expected at specific locations, such as Nainital, Champawat, and Bageshwar on Monday and Tuesday, and further showers in Udham Singh Nagar, Dehradun, and Pauri on Tuesday.
