Delhi Assembly Goes Green: Embraces Paperless Governance Powered by Solar Energy

The Delhi Assembly has achieved a significant milestone by adopting a paperless system, powered entirely by solar energy. The initiative, inaugurated by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, makes it the first legislature in India to use the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA). Lawmakers praised the shift but raised concerns over the absence of the Question Hour.

The Delhi Assembly has taken a formidable step towards environmental sustainability and digital governance by transitioning to a completely paperless system run on solar energy.

This landmark initiative was inaugurated by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and marks the first such adoption in any Indian legislature, taking advantage of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) to create a paperless environment.

Though the move was lauded by legislators, including the Leader of Opposition Atishi, concerns were also raised regarding the absence of the Question Hour in the session.
