Three security force personnel were wounded in a new exchange of gunfire on Thursday as the anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district continued into its seventh consecutive day, marking the longest operation this year, officials reported.

Nalin Prabhat, Chief of Jammu and Kashmir Police, arrived at the scene to assess the ongoing situation. Additionally, Army's Northern Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma reviewed security measures and the overall counter-terrorism initiative in South Kashmir, receiving updates about the active engagement.

Authorities confirmed that three personnel sustained injuries during Thursday's clash, bringing the total number of injured to seven. Efforts to locate the terrorists in the forested, challenging terrain continue through the use of drones and helicopters. Two terrorists were neutralized earlier in the operation which began after security forces executed a search following precise intelligence inputs.
