Convicted Leaders: Imran Khan's Party Faces Judicial Blow

An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan delivered verdicts on Monday, convicting 75 leaders and workers of Imran Khan's party. The sentences, ranging from three to 10 years, were handed down for their involvement in attacking the residence of a senior PML-N leader amid the May 9 riots.

The court sentenced 59 individuals to 10 years and 16 to three years, while 34 were acquitted in the attack on PML-N Punjab president Rana Sanaullah's house. Those convicted include prominent figures formerly in opposition roles, such as Omar Ayub, Shibli Fraz, and Zartaj Gul, among others.

While some high-profile figures like Fawad Chaudhry were acquitted, the PTI condemned the verdict, alleging the ruling was based on fabricated charges. Imran Khan's aide, Zulfi Bokhari, expressed concerns over justice being denied, particularly in the case of Aleema Khan's son, Shahrez.
