Adamya Boosts Bay of Bengal Security: India's Maritime Milestone
The Indian Coast Guard commissioned the fast patrol vessel ‘Adamya’ in Odisha, enhancing security in the Bay of Bengal. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited, the vessel will operate from Paradip, strengthening maritime surveillance and law enforcement in the region as part of India's national security efforts.

The Indian Coast Guard took a significant step in bolstering maritime security on Friday as fast patrol vessel 'Adamya' was commissioned along the Odisha coast. The ceremony, held at Paradip, was formally conducted by Satyajit Mohanty, Joint Secretary for Defence Policy and Armed Forces Wing.
This vessel is part of a series of eight fast patrol vessels constructed by Goa Shipyard Limited for the ICG. Highlighting India's strategic advancements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasised Odisha's critical role in augmenting the nation's maritime defense capabilities.
Adamya, capable of speeds up to 50 kmph, will help enforce maritime law, ensure coastal surveillance, and secure the Exclusive Economic Zone. With a crew of five officers and 34 staff, it is poised to enhance national security in the Bay of Bengal and assist in rescue operations and anti-piracy efforts.
