In a significant development for the Maharashtra government's Ladki Bahin scheme, the benefits of 26 lakh suspected ineligible recipients will resume following a thorough verification process.
Initial concerns arose when numerous accounts were flagged as suspicious, leading to halted payments as authorities sought to uncover any instances of misuse. However, a detailed scrutiny revealed that merely three lakh of these accounts were indeed bogus.
This intensive verification effort has now cleared the majority of beneficiaries, with the remaining eligible recipients slated to receive their overdue payments. This process will streamline the state's welfare distribution, ensuring only genuine accounts are maintained.
