Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has revealed that 22 Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated after being detained for illegal entry into India. This eviction reflects Assam's continued efforts to safeguard regional interests.
Sarma refrained from providing specifics on where these apprehensions took place but stated that these actions occurred early on Thursday.
The districts of Sribhumi, Cachar, Dhubri, and South Salmara-Mankachar in Assam share a 267.5-kilometer border with Bangladesh, making them sensitive areas for illegal crossings.
