Canada's foreign minister Anita Anand discussed renewing and refocusing shared objectives with China in a meeting Friday with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi. "The ministers highlighted the 20th anniversary of the Canada-China Strategic Partnership and discussed how the Partnership can be renewed and refocused to meet shared objectives in light of the evolving bilateral and global context," Canada's global affairs ministry said in a statement following the meeting in Beijing.
The leaders also "agreed that regular and candid communication is essential to build trust, enhance cooperation and address respective concerns," the statement said. Issues including agriculture and agri-food products, including canola, seafood, meat and electric vehicles were discussed, the statement said.
