A shocking jewelry heist at the Louvre has tarnished France's reputation, according to Justice Minister Gerard Darmanin. Speaking on Monday, Darmanin emphasized the negative image such an event projects, highlighting what's perceived as a lapse in security.
During his interview with France Inter, Darmanin pointed to the vast number of invaluable pieces housed in Parisian and national museums across France. He acknowledged the failure in preventing the theft.
Despite the setback, Darmanin remained optimistic about law enforcement's ability to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
