Farmers' rights took center stage as protests erupted in Agali, north Kerala, over the suicide of 53-year-old Krishnaswamy, a farmer driven to desperation by bureaucratic roadblocks.
On Tuesday, Congress and BJP workers gathered outside the mini civil station, demanding justice and accountability from revenue officials. Krishnaswamy's family alleged that the exhaustive delays in processing his land records led to his tragic decision.
State Revenue Minister K Rajan announced that authorities would conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, emphasizing the need for stringent actions should any official misconduct be uncovered.
