The Maharashtra government has issued a directive requiring all government and semi-government establishments to publish yearly employee details of those with disabilities on their websites starting January 1, ensuring compliance with the mandated employment quota.
This directive, issued by the state's Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) Welfare Department, aims to guarantee the effective application of a 4% reservation in public employment for disabled individuals, as stated by department secretary Tukaram Mundhe.
The new regulation mandates biannual reviews of vacant posts allocated to persons with disabilities, with departments required to submit updated information to the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. Non-compliance will result in penal action, reinforcing the directive's enforcement.
