Rebuilding Hope: Flood Recovery Efforts in Panjab
Following devastating floods, 11 villages in Panjab require urgent intervention. UNITED SIKHS, responding to grassroots appeals, highlights critical needs in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and psychosocial support. The organization calls for donor involvement to restore livelihoods, rebuild homes, and support vulnerable communities in their recovery efforts.
In the aftermath of the catastrophic floods that hit Panjab two months ago, a recent field assessment has revealed pressing needs across 11 flood-stricken villages. United Sikhs is mobilizing resources to aid 3,895 individuals, focusing on agriculture, infrastructure, and education.
The disaster has affected countless lives, with 368 families suffering agricultural losses and 476 households reporting severe damage to shelters. Immediate intervention is crucial to ensure food security and rebuild resilient infrastructures.
Child protection and psychosocial support emerge as vital priorities; economic hardship has forced many children into labor, and both children and elders are grappling with trauma. United Sikhs continue to lead recovery efforts, seeking donor support to bolster long-term resilience and dignity.
