The Mizoram government has announced a 4% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) for state employees, effective November 1. This decision, made during a council of ministers meeting chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, raises the DA for these employees from 40% to 44% of their basic pay.
A further increment of 2%, from 44% to 46%, is set to take effect from April 1 next year, reflecting the government's ongoing efforts to support its workforce. Despite this, state employees' DA remains lower than the approximately 53% received by central government employees.
In other developments, the council has also approved a special incentive allowance for police personnel and staff of the assistant sub-inspector rank and below, who are deployed on deputation with the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
