West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was among the first to congratulate Justice Kant on his swearing-in. Banerjee expressed optimism that his leadership would strengthen the Indian judiciary's foundational pillars.
Justice Kant's distinguished career includes pivotal verdicts, such as those related to Article 370 and the revision of Bihar's electoral rolls. He takes over from Justice B R Gavai and promises to bring a new vision to India's legal landscape.
