Russia's Foreign Ministry issued a stern warning on Thursday, asserting its right to a strong response to Japan's decision to deploy missiles on an island near Taiwan's coast.

According to Japan's Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, the deployment plans are advancing 'steadily,' involving a medium-range surface-to-air missile unit stationed at a military base on Yonaguni, within Okinawa Prefecture.

Moscow criticized Tokyo, alleging that Japan is executing U.S.-driven militaristic expansion by arming these islands, which contributes to broader regional militarization.
