Thirteen fishermen from Bangladesh, who inadvertently drifted into Indian waters, were found in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district, local police confirmed on Monday.

The fishermen, hailing from Bhola district, faced engine failure on their voyage from Dhaka that commenced on November 10 and ended on Indian shores due to strong winds, according to Superintendent of Police K V Maheswara Reddy.

Surviving primarily on water, they were discovered by locals who notified authorities. As the boat entered India's Exclusive Economic Zone without permission, it constitutes a legal violation. Communication with Bangladeshi officials is ongoing to resolve the matter.
