“Operation Sindoor is proof that India gives a befitting reply to those who do not understand the language of peace and goodwill,” asserted Rajnath Singh as he addressed the Sardar Sabha in Vadodara on December 02, 2025. The event was part of the “Unity March” organised by Mera Yuva Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Rajnath Singh likened India’s decisive action against terrorism under Operation Sindoor to Sardar Patel’s leadership — noting that just as Patel sought dialogue but was willing to act boldly when needed (as in the integration of Hyderabad), India today does not shy away from taking firm action to safeguard national security.

He commended the courage and dedication of India’s Armed Forces for the successful execution of the operation, saying that the world is now recognising the bravery and capabilities of Indian soldiers. According to him, Operation Sindoor sent a clear message: “we’re a peace-loving nation which never provokes any country, but if provoked, does not spare those who try to cast an evil eye.”

Rajnath Singh further recalled Sardar Patel’s contribution in uniting the nation and said that Patel’s vision of “One India, Best India” has been further strengthened under the leadership of Narendra Modi. He referred to the abrogation of Article 370 and said that the move ensured full integration of Jammu & Kashmir into India’s mainstream.

Emphasising that the Government today follows the path shown by Sardar Patel — politically, culturally, socially and economically — he said India, once surrounded by doubts, is now communicating with the world on its own terms. “India is marching ahead towards becoming a major economic and strategic power,” he added.

On defence and self-reliance, Rajnath Singh highlighted that under the “Make-in-India” initiative, India is becoming increasingly self-reliant in defence production. He noted government targets of achieving defence production worth ₹3 lakh crore and defence exports of ₹50,000 crore by 2029.

He said Sardar Patel’s legacy of national unity and territory integrity must be carried forward by youth. It is their responsibility to preserve the nation’s unity and sovereignty, uphold its values, and prepare future generations in the same spirit.

Present on the occasion were the Governor of Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for MSMEs and Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje and various state-government officials.
