Twelve labourers from Pilibhit district in Uttar Pradesh are allegedly stranded and facing harassment in Kyrgyzstan, prompting the local administration to take action. In a bid to ensure their safe return, the district administration has dispatched a detailed report to the Uttar Pradesh Home Department, indicating the gravity of the situation, per official reports.
District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh, speaking to PTI, emphasized that the report outlines factual details necessary for the Home Department to initiate repatriation procedures. Concurrently, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav is overseeing a probe to investigate reports of the labourers' ordeal.
The families of the stranded workers, having identified that misleading recruitment led to their dilemma, are actively seeking assistance. They report physical abuse and lack of basic necessities in Kyrgyzstan, allegedly at the hands of local agents. The administration's action plan aims for swift intervention to facilitate the workers' return to India.
