Amid a spate of criminal cases involving police officers in Karnataka, M A Saleem, state DG&IGP, has initiated stringent measures to maintain integrity within the force. Saleem has insisted on routine background checks and counseling across all police units.
In a circular dated December 5, he warned that officers involved in criminal acts will face severe disciplinary actions. This move follows incidents like the arrest of Davangere sub-inspectors and a Bengaluru constable linked to high-profile robberies.
Saleem emphasizes zero tolerance for misconduct, mandating ethics training and public confidence-building efforts. Officers failing to enforce these measures risk facing departmental actions, ensuring accountability throughout the force.
