In a significant breakthrough, Alwar police have uncovered an illegal arms racket masquerading as farm security services, leading to the arrest of an interstate arms dealer.
During the operation, authorities seized a cache of firearms, ammunition, and explosives. Alwar SP Sudhir Chaudhary detailed the raid, which resulted in the capture of Jaheed Khan, a 35-year-old from Haryana, allegedly supplying weapons throughout Rajasthan.
Operating from a deceptively simple room at a borewell in Malakheda, Khan had built a clandestine base on land owned by Charan Singh. The room was equipped like a mini arms workshop, showcasing his extensive operations in the arms trade. Key items recovered included three 12-bore guns, pistols, live and empty cartridges, gunpowder, and tools for cartridge refilling.
