The bodies of six labourers from Assam, who perished in a tragic road accident in Arunachal Pradesh, were returned to their families on Saturday. The fatalities resulted from a mini-truck falling into a deep gorge in Anjaw district.
State minister Bimal Borah, who accompanied the deceased during recovery operations, stated that challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions are hindering the search efforts. So far, 18 bodies have been identified, but there might be more beneath the wreckage.
One survivor managed to escape and alert authorities, leading to the ongoing recovery mission. The last rites are being arranged by local authorities. The lone survivor is receiving medical care in Dibrugarh.
