In Gandhinagar on Sunday, Lt General Dushyant Singh (retd) underscored the inevitability of 'Operation Sindoor 2.0'. The former Director General of CLAWS highlighted the need for India to remain prepared given Pakistan's fixation on Kashmir, motivated by China and Turkey's backing.
He noted that the ceasefire from the initial Operation Sindoor remains fragile due to ongoing violations by Pakistan at the Line of Control. The 2025 operation aimed at rooting out terrorist infrastructure following a major attack in Pahalgam had exposed Pakistan's military weaknesses.
Singh advocated for a documented national security strategy to better coordinate strategic communications and counter-narratives, recommending reforms in intelligence and defense spending. Air Vice Marshal Anil Golani (retd) also emphasized the strategic evolution toward 'deterrence by punishment' rather than mere restraint.
