The Indian Coast Guard has successfully intercepted a Pakistani fishing vessel, Al-Madina, within Indian maritime territory, officials announced on Thursday.
The operation took place at night when an ICG ship, patrolling the Arabian Sea, spotted the vessel near the International Maritime Boundary Line on January 14, 2026, according to Gujarat Defence PRO Wing Commander Abhishek Kumar Tiwari.
The crew attempted to escape towards Pakistani waters but was intercepted by the ICG. Nine crew members were found on board. The vessel is en route to Porbandar for further examination and questioning by authorities, marking ICG's dedication to safeguarding India's maritime borders.
