India is on the brink of eradicating Maoist terrorism with President Drupadi Murmu revealing on Wednesday that just three districts remain affected by Naxal violence. This statement came during her address at the joint sitting of Parliament, marking the beginning of the Budget session.
Murmu highlighted the government's resolute approach against Maoist terror, noting that 126 districts once engulfed in fear saw a dramatic decline, with only eight districts affected and three still vulnerable. Nearly 2,000 Maoists have surrendered, bringing renewed peace and stability to the regions.
As operations intensify with a deadline set for March 2026, efforts are focused on reintegrating ex-Maoists into society. Community transformation is evident, with locals celebrating new infrastructure and participating in events like the Bastar Olympics, illustrating the new normalcy replacing decades of conflict.
