Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized India's commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as a means to resolve the ongoing crisis in West Asia. On Monday, Modi addressed the Lok Sabha, condemning attacks on commercial ships and disruptions at the Strait of Hormuz as unacceptable. He assured that the Indian government remains in touch with international suppliers to meet the oil and gas needs of the country.
Modi highlighted India's proactive measures to ensure safety for Indians in the affected region, communicating with the heads of state in West Asia. Addressing fuel shortage concerns, he affirmed that power plants in India have sufficient coal stock, and emphasized the nation's preparedness for both food and energy security.
With a focus on promoting peace, Modi stated India's longstanding opposition to attacks on civilian, energy, and transport infrastructure.
