BJP's Jharkhand Bandh Postponed Amid Rising Law and Order Concerns

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has rescheduled its planned Jharkhand bandh, initially set for April 3, to April 9. This decision comes in consideration of Good Friday and the JEE (Main) examination.

The BJP's protest centers around a perceived collapse of law and order in Jharkhand and a demand for justice in the case of a 12-year-old girl's alleged rape and murder in Hazaribag district. Party spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo criticized the state's handling of over 10,000 rape cases, 11,000 kidnappings, and other crimes since 2020.

The Jharkhand High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the girl's case. Meanwhile, a BJP team has raised security concerns with DGP Tadasha Mishra, highlighting incidents like stone-pelting during recent religious celebrations.
