The Pakistan Navy, assisted by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, provided crucial humanitarian assistance to the crew of an Indian tug and supply vessel stalled in the Arabian Sea. The rescue, detailed by the Dawn newspaper, involved coordination after the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre in Mumbai reached out for help.
The distressed crew, consisting of six Indian nationals and one Indonesian, faced dire circumstances due to a technical fault reported on the MV Gautam. The vessel was traveling from Oman to India when the issue occurred, necessitating urgent intervention and support.
Emergency aid, including vital supplies of food, medical assistance, and technical support, was rendered to the crew. Meanwhile, efforts to resolve the technical problems of the vessel continue. This incident follows another successful rescue by the Pakistan Navy, which saved 18 crew members from a distressed ship last month.
