Delhi has recorded a concerning rise in crimes against foreigners in 2024, according to the latest data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). With 64 such cases, the capital leads India in these offenses, up from 63 in 2023 and 40 in 2022.

The data, released on Wednesday, indicates that nearly all reported crimes in union territories occurred in Delhi, with the city contributing 64 out of 67 reported cases. Regions like Jammu and Kashmir, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported minimal incidents, with only a few cases each.

In comparison to the national chargesheeting rate of 68%, Delhi's rate stands lower at 46%, while the union territories average is 45.5%. Nationwide, there were 257 reported cases, marking an increase from 238 in 2023 and 192 in 2022, with Maharashtra, Karnataka, and other states following Delhi's lead in numbers.
