BJP Secures Major Win in Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Elections

The BJP claimed victory in 13 Assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh, while the National People's Party secured one. Noteworthy wins include candidates Hayeng Mangfi and Chakat Aboh. The election was concurrently held with Lok Sabha polls in April.

The ruling BJP clinched a significant victory in Arunachal Pradesh, securing 13 Assembly seats, while the National People's Party (NPP) managed to grab a single seat, officials announced on Sunday.

Vote counting for the 50 Assembly seats commenced at 6 am. Previously, the BJP had already secured 10 seats unopposed out of the 60-member assembly. Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections coincided with the Lok Sabha polls in their first phase on April 19.

Significant victories for the BJP include Tesam Pongte from Changlang North, Wangki Lowang from Namsang, and Hayeng Mangfi from Chayang-Tajo. Meanwhile, the NPP saw victory with Pesi Jilen winning from Liromoba. The elections mark a decisive win for the BJP in the northeastern state.
