The ruling Congress and BJP are neck and neck in Telangana, each leading in eight of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies as of noon on Tuesday. Vote counting progresses, reflecting a dynamic political scenario.
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi maintains a robust lead over BJP rival K Madhavi Latha by more than 70,000 votes, according to the Election Commission's latest updates.
The BJP leads in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Chevella, and Mahabubnagar, while Congress candidates are ahead in Peddapalle (SC), Mahabubabad (ST), Warangal (SC), Bhongir, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool (SC), and Zaheerabad.
The K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS appears to be the biggest loser, with no lead in any constituencies compared to nine seats won in the 2019 elections. BRS had already faced a defeat in the November Legislative Assembly polls.
Back in 2019, BJP had secured four seats, while Congress won three. The current vote count began at 8 am, following a single-phase polling on May 13.
