Kejriwal's Interim Bail: AAP's Rocky Road to Success

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's intense campaign after his interim bail couldn't lead AAP past BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. Despite huge turnout at rallies, AAP faced defeats in Delhi, Gujarat, and Assam. His arrest further hampered the campaign, overshadowing efforts and strategies.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's dynamic campaign in the scorching summer heat, following his interim bail from Tihar jail, drew massive crowds. Yet, it proved inadequate to push Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) past the formidable BJP in the national capital.

Kejriwal's mission to dislodge the BJP saw him advocating for AAP candidates and those of NDIA bloc allies, across multiple states from Maharashtra to Punjab. Despite strong showings in rallies, the Lok Sabha elections saw the BJP overpowering AAP in Delhi, while Congress clinched seven seats in Punjab, leaving AAP with only three out of 13.

Kejriwal’s arrest on May 21 plunged the campaign into disarray, delaying manifestos and strategic decisions. Post-release, he reinvigorated the campaign, but his high-energy efforts couldn’t prevent AAP's struggles, including voids in Punjab, Delhi, and Assam.
