The BJP's Tamil Nadu unit on Thursday demanded stern action after a controversial video went viral. The clip showed individuals allegedly slaying a goat with a picture of the party's state president K Annamalai tied around its neck.
The origins of the video remain unclear, and its authenticity has yet to be verified. Tamil Nadu BJP Vice-President and spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy shared the video on social media, condemning it.
'Killing a goat in the middle of the road and shouting slogans against @annamalai_k, celebrating his defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, shows the opponents' fear of BJP's growth in Tamil Nadu and their willingness to stoop to low-level politics,' Thirupathy stated. He called for immediate arrests of those involved, highlighting the involvement of children in the incident as particularly reprehensible.
