Strengthening Ties: Czech Republic and India Fortify Socio-Economic Links

Czech Republic Ambassador to India Eliska Zigova met with Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwarilal Purohit on Thursday to explore ways to enhance socio-political, economic, cultural, and scientific collaborations.
Ambassador Zigova shared that recent visits by Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky to India resulted in a new strategic partnership focused on innovation, sciences, and technology.
Plans are underway to develop a 'sister-city' relationship between Prague and Chandigarh. Governor Purohit noted India's rich social and cultural tapestry, extending from the 'dhoti' in the south to various turban styles in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. He praised Punjab's brave and hardworking people and suggested that the delegation spend a night at Nangal dam, emphasizing the region's ecotourism potential.
