Elon Musk's $45 Million Monthly Commitment to Pro-Trump Super PAC
Billionaire Elon Musk is planning to donate $45 million monthly to a pro-Trump Super PAC starting in July. Despite not being listed in recent filings, other donors such as Lonsdale Enterprises and the Winklevoss Twins have already contributed. Musk recently endorsed Trump, signaling a shift towards right-wing politics.
Billionaire Elon Musk has announced plans to allocate approximately $45 million per month to a new pro-Trump super political-action committee, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal on Monday.
Musk aimed to commence his donations in July to the America PAC, which supports former President Donald Trump's bid for another term. Surprisingly, Musk's name was absent from a recent Monday filing, which indicated that the committee has already amassed over $8 million, courtesy of donors such as Lonsdale Enterprises and the Winklevoss Twins.
Neither Musk nor Lonsdale responded to Reuters' requests for comments. Notably, Musk publicly backed Trump for the first time in the U.S. presidential race on Saturday, just hours after Trump sustained an ear injury during a campaign event. This endorsement marks Musk's definitive shift towards right-wing politics, providing a significant boost to Trump's ambitions to reclaim the White House in the November 5 election.
