Secret Service Director to Testify on Trump's Rally Shooting Incident
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is set to testify before the U.S. House Oversight Committee on July 22 regarding the shooting incident involving former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. The event raised serious security concerns, leading President Joe Biden to order an independent review.
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has agreed to testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee on July 22 for a hearing related to the shooting of former President Donald Trump at a rally, the panel said on Wednesday. This hearing is crucial for understanding the security lapses during the rally in Pennsylvania.
Security procedures at Trump's rally have come under intense scrutiny after he was shot on Saturday. The FBI is investigating the incident as an assassination attempt. The shooting has sparked serious concerns about the suspect's ability to access a nearby rooftop with a clear view of Trump.
Despite the incident, Trump has assured the public that he is doing well and has subsequently appeared at the Republican National Convention. The shooting, however, resulted in the death of a rally attendee, wounding two others, and left Trump with a bloodied face after his right ear was hit. The suspect was also killed.
