Monsoon Session to Witness Crucial Legislative Changes

Six new legislative bills, including amendments to the disaster management law and the overhaul of the Aircraft Act of 1934, will be presented in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament. The session starts on July 22 and ends on August 12. The Business Advisory Committee has set the agenda.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament, starting next week, will see the introduction of six significant legislative bills, including one aimed at amending the disaster management law.

Amongst these, the Finance Bill and the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak 2024, designed to replace the Aircraft Act of 1934, are aimed at facilitating ease of business in the civil aviation sector. The official list of bills was published in the Parliament bulletin, issued by the Lok Sabha secretariat on Thursday evening.

The session, scheduled from July 22 to August 12, will also feature Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the Union Budget on July 23. Other key bills tabled for introduction include The Boilers Bill, the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill, and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill.

Additionally, Speaker Om Birla has constituted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), tasked with determining the parliamentary agenda. The committee comprises various members from different political parties, ensuring diverse representation.
