Former President Donald Trump met with Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle on Tuesday, ABC News reported on Thursday, citing a source. The meeting follows intense scrutiny of the Secret Service's handling of a rally in Pennsylvania where Trump was shot.

The meeting was held at Trump's hotel in Milwaukee, three days after the incident, which resulted in Trump suffering a bleeding ear. It remains unclear what was discussed. A Trump campaign adviser neither confirmed nor denied the meeting and directed questions to the Secret Service, which has not responded to requests for comment.

On Monday, Cheatle termed the shooting incident at Trump's rally as "unacceptable" and stated she would not resign despite calls from top Republicans in Congress for her to do so. She has agreed to testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Oversight Committee on July 22, the panel confirmed on Wednesday.

The shooting has sparked major concerns over how the suspect managed to access a rooftop with a clear line of sight to Trump. Trump, who has since stated he is doing well, appeared at the Republican National Convention. One rally attendee was killed, two others were wounded, and the suspect was killed by the Secret Service.
