In response to protests by the INDIA bloc against the Union Budget, BJP leader and Mos for Tourism Suresh Gopi defended the budget on Wednesday. Gopi asserted that the finance ministry has provided significant support to job creators and seekers, urging opposition parties to view the budget from the people's perspective rather than through political lenses.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman firmly rebutted the opposition's allegations of discrimination, labeling them as 'outrageous.' She emphasized that the objections, led by Congress, aimed to mislead the public into believing their states were overlooked. This follows Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge's accusations of biased distribution, claiming only Andhra Pradesh and Bihar benefited while other states received nothing.
Following the budget reveal, joint opposition leaders staged a protest outside parliament, decrying the budget as discriminatory and lacking foresight. Prominent figures like Congress' Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav joined the demonstration, asserting that the budget serves to secure political positions rather than public welfare.
