Eleven newly-elected legislators took the oath of office as members of the Maharashtra legislative council in a ceremony at Vidhan Bhavan on Sunday.

The ruling Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, clinched nine out of the eleven contested seats in the recent polls held on July 12. The BJP emerged victorious in five seats, while the Shiv Sena and NCP secured two seats each. Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Congress managed to win one seat each, whereas PWP leader Jayant Patil, who had the backing of NCP (SP), faced defeat.

During the swearing-in ceremony, BJP's Pankaja Munde, Parinay Fuke, Yogesh Tilekar, Amit Gorkhe, and Sadabhau Khot, along with NCP's Rajesh Vitekar and general secretary Shivajirao Garje, and Shiv Sena's Bhawana Gawali and Krupal Tumane were administered the oath. Additionally, Congress's Pradnya Satav and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Milind Narvekar also took their oath in the central hall of the state legislature.
