The opposition BJP on Monday exited the West Bengal assembly, protesting Suman Kanjilal’s involvement in a crucial discussion on erosion control and flood mitigation.
BJP legislature party leader Sankar Ghosh argued that Kanjilal, initially elected as an MLA from Alipurduar under the BJP banner, has since joined the TMC.
Despite opposition, Speaker Biman Banerjee permitted Kanjilal's participation, leading to BJP MLAs vociferously opposing and staging a walkout.
