Trump Challenges Harris to Fox News Debate; Harris Sticks with ABC Plan
Donald Trump proposed a debate with Kamala Harris on Fox News, but Harris insists on the already planned ABC debate. Trump accused Harris of evading the debate while Harris secured the Democratic nomination. The debate is set for Sept. 10, amidst Trump's proposed changes and accusations against Harris.
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has proposed a debate with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News on September 4. However, Harris's campaign countered that Trump's proposal is an attempt to avoid the already scheduled debate on ABC News.
Trump highlighted that the rules of the proposed debate on Fox would be similar to the first debate he had with President Joe Biden, who has dropped his reelection bid. He emphasized that this debate would involve a 'full arena audience' and occur in Pennsylvania. Harris reaffirmed her commitment to the ABC debate set for September 10, stating that Trump is trying to avoid it.
On social media, Trump accused Harris of being afraid to meet him on stage. Additionally, during a rally in Atlanta, Trump made disparaging comments about Harris's racial identity. He also claimed that the ABC debate had been terminated as Biden had exited and he himself was in litigation with ABC. Polls indicate a tight contest between Harris and Trump.
