In a high-stakes visit to the nation's capital, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advocate for the expedited release of funds for both the Polavaram irrigation project and the Amaravati capital city development.
During his two-day visit, Naidu also engaged with Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil, accompanied by TDP MPs and Union Ministers K Rammohan Naidu and Pemmasani Chandrasekhar. Significant discussions focused on pending issues under the State Reorganisation Act and the structuring of multilateral financial assistance for Amaravati.
In these meetings, Naidu expressed gratitude for the Rs 15,000-crore allocation announced in the Union Budget while calling for swift coordination between state and central governments on project approvals and safer completion methodologies. His visit comes against the backdrop of rising public debt in Andhra Pradesh, underscoring the urgency of his appeals.
